Racism is a huge issue that occurs today, and it has continued to show up in football stadiums. One of the football players who has received the most verbal abuse is Real Madrid's star player Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian has fought against racism, but the abuse in stadiums still continues in La Liga, and he seems to be the primary target. Vinicius Jr was asked about his attitude problems on the pitch, and the Brazilian agreed that it is an issue he wants to work on. Vinicius said, "My attitude on the pitch? I understand that you talk about what happens in the field. Of course, I have a lot to improve; I'm still 23 years old, and it's a natural progress. You leave Brazil very young without having learned so many things."

When asked about the racism that is going on, Vinicius said, "I've been watching this (racism) happen for a long time, and I feel sadder and sadder; I'm less and less willing to play. No one is supporting me. I'm sure Spain is not a racist country, but there are many racists, and many of them are in the stadiums. We have to change because many of them don't know what racism is. They insult me about the color of my skin to make me play badly; they can tell me many other things, and I'm not going to tell them anything. I hope I can go to the pitches and not think about what could happen."

Vinicius Jr says he never considered leaving Real Madrid because of racism

Rumors circulated that Vinicius Jr was considering leaving Spain and Real Madrid because of the verbal abuse he received. Vinicius shuts those rumors down and says, "I have never thought about leaving Spain because that would be giving the racists what they want. I'm not going to leave the best club in the world. The racists are a minority; I'm going to remain firm and strong because the president and the club support me."
