The Premier League season is over, and so is Jurgen Klopp’s time at Liverpool Football Club. Before Liverpool’s game against Wolves, Anfield honored Klopp with a huge tifo, saying, “Jurgen, you’ll never walk alone.” The Liverpool fans fully embraced the German manager as he has been in charge of the Liverpool team for the past eight years. Liverpool defeated Wolves 2-0 at Anfield with goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Jarell Quansah in the first half, and the party continued in the stadium to continuing to honor Klopp as he said he would mostly likely take a long break from managing any team.

During his tenure with Liverpool, Klopp guided them to eight titles. Under Klopp, Liverpool won the Premier League title, the Champions League trophy, the FIFA Club’s World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and two English League Carabao Cups. His last trophy was the Carabao Cup this year against Chelsea, as Liverpool defeated them 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.

After the final whistle blew, Klopp started to hug most of his staff members and the players he has managed for many years, like Andrew Robertson, Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil Van Dijk. The emotions of the players were very high, especially Van Dijk, who was seen crying while hugging the German coach.

Another player who was very emotional about Klopp leaving is the vice-captain, Trent Alexander Arnold. He was crying while facing the Kop Stand. Liverpool fans were singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in front of the players who knew that next season would be a very different environment now that Kloop would be gone.

Another member from the Liverpool squad who was honored and will leave the club as well is Joel Matip. The defender is currently injured, but his contract will expire this summer, and he will leave as a free agent. He received a guard of honor from his teammates, and Klopp was next to be honored. The team presented the trophies he won over the years with Liverpool. Klopp spoke to the fans at Anfield and said, “We have YOU. The superpower of world football. Since today I am one of you. I will never walk alone.”

Klopp also wanted the fans to give their support to Arne Slot, who seems to be the man to replace the German coach next season. He even made a chant for the Dutch coach, who is now very likely to be confirmed as the new manager of Liverpool. Klopp chanted, “Arne Slot, La La La La La..” Slot has already confirmed that he will leave Feyenoord at the end of this season and will head to Anfield next season.

Jurgen Klopp’s final words after his tribute

Klopp spoke after the tribute he received at Anfield from Liverpool and praised the club and the players. Klopp’s final words were, “I love the squad. There is so much potential. They will make changes here and there. I’m sure you will all agree there does not need an overhaul. We finished third. We were ahead of schedule. It’s a statement in this strong league and I’m fine with that. The other clubs, with the most money and the best managers, they win it. We didn’t have the best manager and never had the best team, but for a while, we played the best football, and I love that. We are a rock solid club and don’t overspend. People say ‘you didn’t spend enough’. What the heck do you want? I just understand this from the Liverpool way.”
