The UEFA Champions League Final is one of the most watched football games, and this weekend, the football world will be watching the game between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium. One of the football stars that will be watching the final is Kylian Mbappé. The French star is set to join Real Madrid, and he could see his future team lift their 15th Champions League trophy. In an interview with CNN, Mbappé was asked if he would watch the Champions League Final and if he had a team he would be supporting, which seemed like a trap to get the player to admit he would soon join Real Madrid. Mbappé said, “No, I just watch the Champions League Final, like you (Laughs).”

Mbappé reflected on his time at PSG and how close he was with the French club to lift the Champions League trophy. Mbappé said, “We were close few times, we didn’t win the Champions League. It’s part of the game. Now i’m in the position where I want to only have a good feeling, good memories about my journey in Paris and everything that happened in this club.”

Mbappé was also asked about his future, and even without saying Real Madrid, his words excited the fanbase from Spain. The French star said, “I want to be happy, I am going to leave my country for the first time in my life and I am really excited. I can’t wait to be at my new club. When will my next club be announced? It’s a matter of days. I think it’s going to be official soon, and I just want to enjoy this time without a club. I hope someone can pay me. [laughs].”

Mbappé doesn’t regret renewing his contract with PSG in 2022

A question that was asked to Mbappé was if there was any regret about renewing his contract with PSG in 2022 when he was close to joining Real Madrid. Mbappé said, “I don’t regret it but it was a difficult decision. I became PSG top scorer…I only want to remember the good things…but it wasn’t an easy situation and I don’t wish that on anybody.”
