Lionel Messi caused controversy over the weekend as he didn’t travel with the rest of the Inter Miami team to the match against the Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada. The trip was the longest distance an MLS team has traveled for a game this season, as Vancouver is on the west side of Canada while Miami is on the bottom right of the United States. Messi was not injured, and he opted out of the squad to rest and prepare for the next games this upcoming week. Inter Miami fans hope to see that Messi is not just fully relaxing in Miami. A video shows Messi dedicated to Inter Miami. He was seen training alone in the training facilities while awaiting his teammates to return from Canada.
