Real Madrid and Manchester City drew 3-3 at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League. The intense game went back and forth from both sides and now all is to play for in the second leg next week at the Etihad Stadium. Kevin De Bruyne did not play due to a stomach virus he had before the game. He stayed on the bench for the entire game but without him, Man City got a great result ahead of the second leg.

With only 40 seconds in the game, Tchouameni tackled Jack Grealish and received a yellow card. He will miss the second leg due to the accumulation of cards. It got worse for Real Madrid as Bernardo Silva scored from a free kick to give Man City the 1-0 lead. It didn't take long for Real Madrid to react as in the 12th minute, Camavinga took a long shot, and the ball was deflected in the net by Ruben Dias. Two minutes later, Rodrygo scored to make it 2-1 for Real Madrid as he passed the ball into the net.

In the second half, the game got even wilder. While Real Madrid had many chances to score at the start of the second half, it was Man City who grabbed the next goal. In the 66th minute, Phil Foden scores a screamer to make it 2-2. In the 71st minute, Gvardiol scores another screamer for Manchester City from outside the box to make it 3-2 to the visitors. Real Madrid reacted once again as in the 79th minute, Fede Valverde scored a volley to smash the ball into the bottom left corner to equalize. The game ended 3-3, and the tie was still alive for either team.

Next week is the second leg at the Etihad Stadium

Real Madrid and Man City will face each other once again next week in England as the first leg ended 3-3. In the last two visits, Real Madrid lost at the Etihad. In 2022, Real Madrid lost 4-3 and last year Real Madrid lost 4-0.
