Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. are two of the biggest stars in Saudi Arabia, and their teams are rivals in the Saudi Pro League as CR7 represents Al Nassr, and the Brazilian star represents Al Hilal. The two star players attended the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight at the Kingdom Arena, and they met and said hello to each other. Many football fans were happy to see the players embrace and share a nice conversation since they have never been teammates but are two of the best players this past decade. Ronaldo asked Neymar, “How are you, everything is fine? What about injury?” to which Neymar replied, “I’m fine, Oh, your son is with you?” Ronaldo made a funny remark saying, “Tomorrow he [his son] has school. I told him you will come to watch boxing with me, but remember that tomorrow you will wake up early.”

The two players witnessed Usyk defeat Tyson Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. This was Fury’s first loss in his career, while Usyk remained undrafted throughout his career. The cameras kept showing CR7 because he was next to Anthony Joshua, who will be a competitor for either Usyk or Tyson Fury next. Many captured the moment Neymar and Ronaldo reunited, and other football stars like Steven Gerrard and Andriy Shevchenko were in attendance as well.

Neymar and Ronaldo have shared the biggest stage for many years as the Brazilian was with FC Barcelona and CR7 was with Real Madrid in La Liga. Neymar would then play for PSG from 2017 and would face Ronaldo one time when the Portuguese striker was with Real Madrid in the 2017/2018 season. They have yet to play against each other in Saudi Arabia since Neymar suffered an ACL injury last October with the Brazilian national team. Neymar is set to be ready for next season as his recovery process is going well.

Neymar’s team has had a better season than Ronaldo’s Al Nassr team this season since they won the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi Super Cup by eliminating CR7 in the semifinals. The two teams will face each other once again this season, but it will be on the last day of the season. Al Nassr and Al Hilal will face each other in the King’s Cup Final. The Brazilian even posed with the trophy and was part of the Al Hilal celebrations.

The last time Neymar and Ronaldo faced each other in a match

Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo have faced each other in Saudi Arabia before, but not when Neymar was at Al Hilal. Neymar was playing for PSG in a friendly match against Riyadh All-Stars last year. The game ended 5-4 in favor of PSG, but the game included a brace from Ronaldo and a goal from Lionel Messi. Kylian Mbappé also scored in this star-packed match, and many fans were happy to see many world-class players on the same pitch. It was one of Ronaldo’s first matches in Saudi Arabia since he made the move to Al Nassr from Manchester United in early 2023.
