Theo Walcott, the former England international who made history in 2006 as the youngest player (17 years and 75 days) to debut for the national team, has shared his thoughts on the player who could improve Real Madrid’s squad. In a recent interview with BBC, Walcott praised Swedish forward Alexander Isak, stating that the 25-year-old is the type of player that could elevate any team, including the Spanish giants.

“Alexander Isak is the kind of player that Arsenal really needs, but you could say that everyone needs a player like him right now, even Liverpool,” Walcott said. According to the 35-year-old ex-footballer, Isak’s versatility and ability to perform in various attacking roles would make him a key addition to any top club, especially Real Madrid. Walcott also criticized the club’s current tactical approach, particularly how they sometimes deploy talented players in positions that don't play to their strengths.

Walcott Critiques Real Madrid’s Tactical Choices

Theo Walcott, who had stints with Southampton, Arsenal, and Everton during his playing career, also expressed his concerns over Real Madrid’s tactical and transfer market strategy. “Look at Real Madrid’s current lineup. They go after these galácticos and buy these incredible talents, but sometimes they place them in positions where they can’t perform well,” Walcott noted. He emphasized that the club’s lack of balance in certain areas of the pitch has been a recurring issue.

In his opinion, Alexander Isak could be the solution. Walcott believes that Isak’s unique skill set and adaptability would help bring structure and harmony to Madrid’s attacking play. “If you put Isak in that Real Madrid team, he shapes them in a different way. His ability to play in various positions and roles across the front line makes him a constant threat. With Isak, Madrid would become a more balanced team. He’s the closest thing we’ve seen to Thierry Henry,” Walcott added, drawing a comparison to one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.

Isak’s Impressive Rise at Newcastle

Alexander Isak is a tall, dynamic forward standing at 1.92 meters, who has made his mark at Newcastle United in the Premier League after a successful stint with Real Sociedad from 2019 to 2022. In the current season, Isak has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in 11 matches for the Magpies, demonstrating his goal-scoring ability and playmaking skills. His impressive performances have garnered attention from top clubs across Europe, with many, including Walcott, seeing him as the ideal addition to a team like Real Madrid.
