On Sunday Manchester United advanced to the FA Cup Round of 16 after beating Newport County 4-2 at Rodney Parade. It was an unexpectedly tough game for The Red Devils, considering they were facing a team from the fourth tier of English soccer and before 15 minutes of the first half they were leading 2-0. But the hosts reacted and after the break scored the leveller.

This forced Erik Ten Hag's team to work harder than expected to overcome their opponents, and they finally succeeded thanks to goals from Antony and Rasmus Hojlund in the last minutes of the game. The final whistle was a relief for them, as it allowed them not only to avoid the humiliation of having to go to a replay against a much weaker team, but also because the FA Cup is the big goal they have left this season, after failing in the Champions League, Carabao Cup and Premier League.

However, after the game something unusual happened. Ten Hag approached Graham Coughlan, the Newport County manager, with a gift for him: an expensive bottle of 2013 Antinori Tignanello wine valued at nearly $300 that had been specially chosen for him by Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary Manchester United coach between 1986 and 2013.

"We have a small gift for you," Ten Hag told him, but Coughlan's response was absolutely unexpected: "Brilliant. You know I don't drink wine, I drink Budweiser". This surprised the Dutch manager, who added: "Really, Budweiser? American beer? But this is a really very good one chosen by Sir Alex so maybe your wife will enjoy it. Maybe take a taste, I think you will like it. Well done for tonight."
