According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, negotiations are most advanced with Girona. The transfer market specialist explains that there is already a "total pact" regarding personal terms between the Catalan side and the goalkeeper, meaning the deal could be finalized in the coming days.

"Final details remain to be settled with Barcelona regarding the loan structure, but Girona is confident they can close the deal next week," Romano reported, making it clear that the operation is well on track and only awaiting the final green light between both entities.

Despite Ter Stegen's departure, coach Hansi Flick will have two reliable alternatives between the posts. Joan García will serve as the starting goalkeeper, while the experienced Wojciech Szczęsny—who came out of retirement to join Barça—will provide veteran leadership and backup.
