According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have informed Real Madrid that they will only consider letting Enzo Fernandez go for a fee of £200 million. The 24-year-old Argentine midfielder is reportedly on Madrid’s radar for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea’s stance is clear: Enzo is a key part of their long-term project, and any club that wants him will have to pay a premium. The London side paid a then-British record fee to sign him from Benfica in early 2023, and have no intention of selling cheap.

Real Madrid are believed to be monitoring midfield reinforcements, especially with Luka Modric already retired and Toni Kroos stepping away from football. Enzo fits the profile the club is seeking — young, technically gifted and with Champions League experience.

However, the £200M price tag could be a major stumbling block. Even for a club with Madrid’s resources, such a figure requires serious consideration, especially with other targets also on the table.

Enzo Fernandez has had a mixed season at Stamford Bridge, showing flashes of brilliance but also struggling at times in a team that has lacked consistency. Still, his talent remains undeniable, and Chelsea are betting on his long-term value.

Real Madrid weigh up options for summer rebuild

With several key departures expected, Madrid’s midfield could see significant changes. Whether Enzo is part of that future will depend not only on sporting strategy, but on whether Florentino Perez is willing to meet Chelsea’s astronomical demand.
