Rebecca Loos, the former nanny of David and Victoria Beckham's children who became notorious for her alleged affair with the footballer during his time at Real Madrid, has opened up about the intense media scrutiny she faced. In an exclusive interview with El Mundo, Loos discussed the harsh realities of that period, which brought her immense fame but also immense personal challenges.

"Everything was brutal. On one of the shows, a man named Kiko Matamoros claimed to know me and called me a prostitute. I had never even met him. Another man said he was with me on Ronaldo's yacht in Brazil, where, according to him, I had slept with all the footballers. I had never been to Brazil," Loos recounted. "My parents recorded everything on VHS. They suffered," she added, reflecting on the toll the scandal took on her family.

Loos became a well-known figure in Spain, the UK, and the Netherlands during this time. "In Spain, it was considered normal for a married man to have lovers. In England, because he was their favorite, they hated me. In the Netherlands, they loved me. I was their only link to David," she explained, recalling the varied reactions from the countries where she had lived.

A Complicated Relationship with the Beckhams

Loos revealed that she had been hired by the Beckhams because of her ability to speak multiple languages and help Victoria settle in Spain. "My goal was to take care of Victoria, show her Madrid, take her shopping. We had to make sure she would enjoy the city," she said.

However, she found the experience challenging. "It was hard working for them because everyone needed me. The bodyguards needed help reading restaurant menus, for example. I was the first person to see the Beckhams in the morning. I proposed plans. I found a school for their children. It was intense on the days they didn’t travel and were in Madrid," Loos recalled.

From Affair to Media Frenzy

Loos also described her first date with David Beckham, which took place at La Barcemcilla, a restaurant owned by actor Javier Bardem's family. "He hid in the trunk of the car to take me there to try their famous croquettes," she said. Initially, Loos planned to leave Spain for Australia once the affair became public, but she later changed her mind: "The fighter within me activated, and I defended myself on an English TV show. Then I went on another show. And another. It became a snowball. I ended up doing reality shows. I was on the cover of Playboy. It was fun," she shared.

Now living in Norway with her husband, a doctor with whom she has two children, Loos works as a yoga instructor. She explained how yoga helped her step away from the fast-paced, party-filled life she once lived. "You attract a lot of fake friends. It’s a fast life. I went to a lot of parties, met a lot of people. I had lost myself," Loos confessed.
