The Real Madrid expedition is heading back to Spain after a painful 4-0 defeat to PSG in the Club World Cup, which saw them eliminated from the tournament. However, the team isn't returning at full strength, as five players won't be joining their teammates to begin their vacations.

Forwards Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior have remained in the United States with the club's permission. Joining them are defender Éder Militão, midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, and superstar Kylian Mbappé, who also have the club's authorization to not return with the group. While all of them have the club's approval, the situation for some is quite notable. Speculation suggests that two of the players who stayed in the U.S. are under the club's scrutiny, and one of them, in particular, might have worn the Real Madrid jersey for the last time, given his subdued performance in recent matches.

What's Next for Real Madrid

The 2024/2025 season has concluded, and for Real Madrid, it's been a campaign to forget. Despite winning the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, the overall balance is one of disappointment, with several negative results, especially against FC Barcelona.

Now, the club is preparing for a period of reflection and significant changes in its offices. According to reports from Defensa Central, the arrival of Álvaro Carreras is imminent and could be finalized in the coming days. However, this wouldn't be the only new addition, as the transfer market will remain open until August 31st, hinting at potential further movements within the merengue squad.

With the current squad's performance not meeting Xabi Alonso's expectations, the club is actively scouting new talent to reinforce the team for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. They're looking for players who can make an immediate impact and help turn around their fortunes.
