Real Madrid need to agree paying a hefty amount to Kylian Mbappé if he joins

Real Madrid are front runners to sign Kylian Mbappé this summer from PSG. Mbappé has reportedly told PSG that he will leave the French club this summer and not renew his contract. Mbappé has agreed to lower his wages to join Real Madrid, but the French star will have other financial rewards that need to be met by Real Madrid in order to join this summer. The amount seems like a transfer fee for PSG, but the money will all go to Mbappé.

Reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano spoke about the negotiations between Real Madrid and Mbappé. Romano said, “I really think it’s the end of the saga & the formal steps will take place soon. Mbappé will communicate with PSG once he formally signs the document." Mbappé's salary at Real Madrid would not differ greatly from their other top players, but the difference is in the image rights. COPE reports that Real Madrid wants to reach an agreement with Mbappé on image rights: 70/30 in favor of Mbappé. This is the same as the agreement in 2022.

BBC Sport reports that Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement on a contract for the summer. He is set to sign a five-year contract, earning €15m a season, plus a €150m signing-on bonus to be paid over five years. The deal could be announced once it is impossible for the two clubs to meet in the Champions League this season. Mbappé earned an annual salary of about 61 million euros a year with PSG in his current contract.
