Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. are excited ahead of next season as Kylian Mbappé could be a player in the squad, which will only make the team stronger. Despite the arrival of Mbappé in Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid, and Vini also celebrated some other news that broke yesterday. According to Mundo Deportivo, Football teams can now face defeat as punishment for racism under a new proposal by FIFA to be voted on at today’s Congress in Bangkok. Vini has been racially abused on multiple occasions by opposition fans in La Liga, and the Brazilian, along with his club, has been trying to put a stop to this behavior that hurts him and other players as well. This could now be a way to prevent racist fans from stopping or for clubs to punish those individuals who make hurtful remarks towards any player on the pitch.

This issue has been going on for a long time, and Vinicius continues to fight against it. A few months back, Vinicius was at a press conference for the Brazilian national team, and he broke down, saying he wanted racism to stop. Vinicius cried, saying, “I’m sorry, I just wanted to play football. I just want to play, I just want to do everything for my club, my family.”

The Brazilian star continued to talk about how important it is to fight against racism since it remains a huge issue not just in football but in the world. The Real Madrid winger said, “Playing football is very important but the fight against racism is very important. Many people of color have a normal life. If this was the case, I would go to my club’s games focused only on playing. The only thing I want is to keep playing and that everyone has a normal life.”

Kylian Mbappé has defended Vinicius Jr. in the past about racism

Vinicius’s, mostly likely, future teammate Mbappé is also open to fighting against racism and, in the past, has defended the Brazilian over the treatment he receives in Spain. Mbappé said, “We need to start leaving the pitch when incidents of racism happen. Complaints are not enough. With Viní Jr, it was great to see how the Brazilian Federation stepped up to defend him.”
