FC Barcelona is going through uncertainty as Xavi Hernandez could potentially be sacked soon after tensions with club president Joan Laporta rose last week. Xavi angered Laporta after his words about the club’s financial situation, and now many reports in Spain suggest that the Catalan club will get rid of him this summer and replace him with Hansi Flick. Catalunya Radio reported that Flick will become the new FC Barcelona head coach, and Xavi will indeed be leaving. El Chiringuito TV captured the moment Xavi Hernandez arrived at the training session ahead of the last matchday in La Liga. Many believes that Joan Laporta has already informed Xavi that he will be leaving the club next week, and Hansi Flick will then become the new manager of the team for next season. Xavi’s face looked very serious, and many predicted that it would soon be official that the Spanish manager would leave the club.

Sky Sports Germany and Diario AS reports that FC Barcelona has reached a verbal agreement with Hansi Flick. Barcelona is set to meet with Xavi next Monday or Tuesday to inform him that he will have to leave the club as they have found his replacement. The meeting between Flick and Barcelona reportedly took place in London yesterday, and Flick will be the next coach for FC Barcelona.

Xavi being sacked wouldn’t also be the best financial idea for the Catalan club. According to Xavi Hernandez Navarro from DiariARA, Xavi’s contract runs until 2025, with no intention of giving it up. His departure will negatively affect Barça’s Financial Fair Play because compensation will be paid and a replacement registered. The negotiations will be long and could last until June.
