FC Copenhagen shocked many football fans when they advanced to this stage of the Champions League. The Danish side placed second in their group ahead of Galatasaray and Manchester United, while Bayern Munich placed 1st. In the Parken Stadium, they have pulled great performances like a 4-3 win against Man United and a 1-0 win against Galatasaray. They were also beating Bayern Munich at home, but the German giants turned it around and won 2-1. Copenhagen are third in the Danish league, and their last game was a 3-1 win against Molde in the Atlantic Cup.
Manchester City is the current Champions League winner and will look to go back-to-back in this year's edition. Man City did perfect in their group stage against RB Leipzig, Young Boys, and FK Crvena Zvezda. Man City won all six games in the group stages and is on a winning streak in all competitions. Their last match was a 2-0 against Everton in the Premier League, and they are second in the table. A win today would be huge for the Citizens since the second leg will be played at Etihad Stadium in March. Man City played Copenhagen in last season's Champions League group stage. City beat Copenhagen 5-0 at home but drew 0-0 in today's stadium, the Parken Stadium in Denmark.

Manchester City starts with Ederson in goal with a back four of Kyle Walker, Stones, Rúben Dias, and Aké. Rodri seems to be the only defensive midfielder who could play with Stones, the player who has played in the middle often. Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Foden, and Grealish will all play behind Erling Haaland.
