On De Bruyne's return, Man City complete an insane comeback win vs Newcastle

Questions were asked if Kevin De Bruyne was appearing from the start or during the Newcastle game, but he has made his presence known to the entire Premier League with a goal and an assist. After trailing 2-1 at halftime, Man City scores two crucial goals in the second half to steal all three points.

The Belgian midfielder came on the pitch for Bernardo Silva. It took the midfielder only five minutes to contribute with a goal as he glides the ball past Dubravka from outside the box. Late in the game, De Bruyne finds Oscar Bobb in the box, and the young Norwegian scores the winner for City. This is his first Premier League goal, which was a special one.

The game started poorly for City as they suffered a major injury in Ederson. Newcastle United scored an offside goal in the 2nd minute of the game. The Brazilian keeper was hit by Kyle Walker and was forced out of the game a minute later. Stefan Ortega replaced the Brazilian for the remainder of the game. Bernardo Silva scored the game's first goal as he backflicked the ball past Dubravka, courtesy of a pass from Walker.

Newcastle turned the tables ten minutes later as Isak curled the past Ortega to the far post to tie the game. Two minutes later, Antony Gordon would curl the ball past Ortega at the same corner of the net. Newcastle led the game 2-1 at halftime.

De Bruyne's second-half performance inspires the Man City comeback

Man City were chasing the game in the second half and dominated the half with many chances. Julian Alvarez had a free kick saved by the Newcastle keeper. Kevin De Bruyne carried City on their back after his substitution. His goal and assist would be the two-goal contribution that completed the Man City comeback. City now sit second with 43 points and a game in hand.

De Bruyne speaks after the epic City win. De Bruyne says, "I missed this. It is what it is, I had a big injury and I needed the time. I enjoyed myself. I think it was more willpower than anything else. It was crazy. I know I'm not able to do that for 90 minutes at the moment. I can put in a shift for 30 minutes at the moment. We want to try and compete for the league again. We are up there. It was a tough game."
