Real Madrid suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates, and while much of the criticism fell on manager Carlo Ancelotti, fans didn't hold back when pointing at one of the team's biggest stars: Vinícius Jr.
The Brazilian forward, usually a difference-maker on the left wing, had a night to forget. He looked disconnected, out of rhythm, and completely nullified by Arsenal’s defence. His contribution was virtually nonexistent during the ninety minutes.
Vinícius managed only 37 touches, lost possession 18 times, won just 1 out of 6 duels, and failed to complete a single dribble. He also didn’t register a single shot on target — numbers that speak for themselves.
For a player who is expected to carry the team in the biggest moments, this performance felt like a major letdown. The explosiveness, creativity and danger that usually define his game were completely absent on the night Real Madrid needed him most.
Social media exploded with criticism. Many fans questioned his attitude, focus, and leadership, especially with Jude Bellingham visibly trying to push the team forward in moments of despair.
The team’s attacking line was disjointed, but it was Vinícius who stood out for all the wrong reasons. In matches of this calibre, where every detail matters, his poor display was impossible to ignore.
With the second leg at the Bernabéu still to come, all eyes will be on the Brazilian to see if he can redeem himself. But after such a poor showing, faith in him is visibly shaken
