Kylian Mbappé played his last home game for PSG at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 last night, and while it was a great day to celebrate another league title, it was fully joyful, according to sources in France. Le Parisien reported that a huge fight broke out between Kylian Mbappé and Nasser Al Khelaifi before the match yesterday. The PSG president did not appreciate not being mentioned in Mbappé’s farewell video, and the argument reached the point that the “walls were shaking.” The president wanted to know why he wasn’t mentioned in the farewell video. Mbappé seemed to hide any tension well, as he was happy when he stepped foot onto the pitch as a preview for the game against Toulouse.
PSG heard about these reports and denied any heated altercation between Mbappé and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, as the pair met several times yesterday. PSG wrote, "It is disappointing to see more fake news circulating this evening. There has been no dispute whatsoever. The President and Kylian have regularly met before matches to finalize the end-of-season departure arrangements. Every meeting has been constructive and respectful, including before the match last night.”
L'Équipe reported that PSG did not know about Kylian Mbappé's departure video last video, and Al-Khelaifi knew about it at the same time as everyone else did. Mbappé posted his farewell video this past Friday, which also surprised Real Madrid. Mbappé did not mention where he would play next, but he thanked his former coaches, teammates, and club members besides Al-Khelaifi. Many expect that Mbappé will be announced as a new Real Madrid after the Champions League final that will take place on June 1st at Wembley Stadium.
Although Mbappé did play his last home game for PSG at the Parc des Princes, he still has a few more games with the team this season. PSG will play two away games in Ligue 1. PSG will play OGC Nice and Metz and then will play the Coupe de France Final against Lyon on May 25th at the Decathlon Arena-Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
