Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and was in contention for the MVP award. He still couldn't manage to take the Baltimore Ravens to the Super Bowl after losing 17-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Conference Championship. After clinching the conference with a 13-4 record, Jackson will have to wait till next year to help the Ravens to make the Super Bowl again since 2013, when defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.

Despite being one of the best players and the best-paid athlete in the NFL, he still doesn't rank above Lionel Messi, whose contract is worth more. Messi is the only MLS player that ranks in the top 50 largest annual sports contracts in the US. Jackson signed a five-year contract extension with the Ravens in 2023. His yearly salary is $52 million with a guaranteed $185 million, making it one of the richest contracts in NFL history.
