Eddie Howe almost starts the exact XI that played Sunderland, but the lineup doesn't include Joelington, who suffered injury during the previous game. Lewis Miley returns to the starting XI to replace the Brazilian midfielder.

Pep Guardiola names a strong XI to face Newcastle United. Ederson is in goal with a back four, including Walker, Ruben Dias, Ake, and Gvardiol. Rodri and Kovacic are in the center of the pitch, while Doku, Foden, and Bernardo Silva play behind Julian Alvarez. Kevin De Bruyne is in the squad but is on the bench.

The last league game between the two clubs was back in Matchweek 2, where City would get a 1-0 win over Newcastle at the Etihad. Julian Alvarez was the man to score the winner for the Manchester Blues. The two sides played in the EFL Cup, and Newcastle would beat Manchester City 1-0 and eliminate them from the competition. The 1-0 win for Newcastle occurred at St. James' Park.

Eddie Howe and Pep Guardiola express their thoughts about their teams before the game

"They are the team to beat for obvious reasons," Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said. "Their record in recent seasons has been incredible. They've got the best manager in the world. Their style of play is very difficult to combat... We've prepared well, so hopefully that reflects on what we do." Newcastle United has lost three consecutive Premier League games.

Pep Guardiola was asked if he believes his team could win the league for the fourth time in a row. Guardiola responds, "It is difficult obviously, otherwise Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho or the big clubs that made a legacy and a dynasty in terms of results for a long time - it's quite similar to what we have done - they could not do it. That means it's so difficult." Man City currently has a four-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
