The Major League Soccer (MLS) and adidas have revealed the official match ball for the 2025 season, a design honoring the league’s 30-year history. Featuring the iconic blue and green tones from the first official ball and incorporating the original MLS logo, the new ball is a celebration of tradition and innovation.
This commemorative ball will be used by all MLS players, including global stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. It also highlights adidas' legacy by combining three of its most popular panel styles and intricate details from all 18 MLS match balls the brand has created over the years.
For the second consecutive year, Inter Miami will feature in the MLS season opener, set for Saturday, February 22. The team will host New York City FC at the Chase Stadium, marking the debut of Javier Mascherano as head coach. Mascherano recently took over the reins from fellow Argentine Gerardo Martino, adding anticipation to the matchup.
The new ball will make its first official appearance in this match, symbolizing the league’s progress and honoring its rich history.
The 2025 official ball not only celebrates the league’s roots but also reflects its growth and evolution:
With the new ball unveiled and a blockbuster opening match set, anticipation is building for the 2025 MLS season. Fans are eager to see Messi, Suárez, and other stars bring their skills to the field with a ball that celebrates three decades of soccer excellence in the United States.
