It is the big news of the day, because the controversy between Inter Miami and China does not stop! Inter Miami played a match against Hong Kong 3 days ago, which had been agreed upon for months. Lionel Messi did not play a single second of the match, violating an important clause in the contract, which obliged him to play 45 minutes.

The Chinese government has already stated its formal complaint: The Hong Kong Government released a statement a few hours ago to express its discontent. “One of the main conditions of our financing agreement with Tatler Asia was that Messi participate in the match for at least 45 minutes.”

“Therefore, we immediately asked them to explore other solutions, such as Messi's presence on the pitch to interact with his fans and collect the trophy. Unfortunately, as everyone saw, this did not happen.”

What did Lionel Messi answer?

Lionel Messi claims that he was injured and there was no way for him to play. Thus, the Argentinian defends Inter Miami. "I missed the game in Hong Kong due to muscle discomfort. I was really looking forward to it because a lot of people came… I hope we can come back and that I can enter. It was a pity. The preseason tour is coming to an end and I would like to play the last game in Japan before returning. My condition will be evaluated after today's training and it will be determined whether I will play or not. I feel much better…”
