Kylian Mbappé earns the most out of any player in the top five European leagues. Transfermarkt, along with L'Équipe, reported that Mbappé earns more than $6 million a month at PSG. Mbappé has been included among the richest athletes of 2023, overtopping sports athletes like Patrick Mahomes. Mbappé will soon have to take a pay cut if he wants to join Real Madrid this summer since his current wages are too much for the Spanish giants. The French star is set to be the top earner in the Real Madrid squad regardless, ahead of Vinicus Jr and Jude Bellingham. These numbers are extremely high, unlike arguably the most important people on the pitch, the referees.

Mbappé earns $81 million a year at PSG, more than $6 million a month, and $1.5 million a week. Mbappé also earns $217,250 a day at PSG. While Real Madrid and Mbappé have agreed on a deal on the salary he will earn, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta created his joining Los Blancos. The president of Barcelona believes it will be an issue and said, "I read about the figures that will be there for Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid, this distorts the locker room. For sure. It won’t be cheap, so… it will be a problem."
