Kylian Mbappé's highly anticipated start to his Real Madrid tenure in the United States has taken a distressing turn. The French superstar is currently hospitalized with severe gastroenteritis, an illness that forced him to miss yesterday's Club World Cup opener against Al-Hilal. From the moment he arrived in the U.S., Mbappé had shown immense dedication and readiness to perform, but his plans have been severely disrupted by his health.

Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso addressed the growing concerns in his recent press conference. "We don't know yet. We have to see how his recovery develops. In recent days, he hasn't been able to train well. He's been unwell, with a significant viral process, and we have to keep an eye on it," the Tolosearra explained to reporters.

Alonso's words hinted at the seriousness of Mbappé's condition. Further evidence of his poor health was his absence from the Hard Rock Stadium yesterday, where he typically would have supported his teammates from the stands. All eyes are now on Real Madrid for further updates regarding their star forward's recovery.

Will Mbappé Be Ready for Sunday's Clash?

The question looming large for Real Madrid and their fans is whether Mbappé will be fit for Sunday's match against Pachuca. Xabi Alonso is reportedly very concerned about Mbappé's health, as he had counted on the player to be a regular starter in all Club World Cup fixtures.

The uncertainty is mounting, as doctors have yet to see significant improvement in the player's condition. This lack of progress makes it highly probable that Mbappé will not recover in time to face Pachuca on Sunday, casting a significant shadow over his, and Real Madrid's, Club World Cup aspirations.
