Things have not gone well for Manchester United this season. They were aiming to compete with the best teams in England and Europe, such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Real Madrid, but their performances fell short of expectations. As a result, they quickly fell out of contention for the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup titles, with only the FA Cup remaining.

The main target for these failures is Erik Ten Hag, as many fans believe that he has made mistakes in the choice of players during the last transfer windows, while his strategies for some important matches have been wrong. But the manager's problems have not only been on the field.

He has had to deal with non-soccer related conflicts, such as the quarrel with Jadon Sancho after a game vs Arsenal that ended with a harsh punishment for the winger, who was sidelined for four months before going on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January. And now the Dutch manager apparently has problems with another of the squad's stars: Marcus Rashford.

The English forward has had disappointing performances this season and many attribute it to his off-field behavior. The most controversial situation was last month, when he missed a training session for supposedly being ill, when in fact he had been partying the night before in Belfast. According to The Sun, the relationship between the two has since broken down and now they are barely speaking, wich makes things even harder for the team to improve.

What will happen to them?

The future of Erik Ten Hag and Marcus Rashford may be far from Old Trafford. The coach is under enormous pressure to achieve satisfactory results and, if he fails to do so in the FA Cup and the Premier League, he could be replaced for next season. And the player has been mentioned as a possible Paris Saint-Germain signing to take the place left by Kylian Mbappé, who will leave once his contract expires.
