Lionel Messi is one of the greatest footballers of all time, and to many, he is the greatest. Messi's impact on football is unlike that of other players, and he will be remembered for what he contributed to the pitch for his clubs and his country, Argentina. Messi will mostly be remembered for his time at FC Barcelona, and the club is already recognizing him with his awards and trophies at the club's museum. Messi will be remembered forever in Barca's history, and his iconic contract signing to join the club will be up for sale at a hefty price.

The napkin used to sign 13-year-old Lionel Messi's first Barcelona contract is on display at Bonhams, New York. It will be sold during an online auction between March 18 and 27 with a starting price of over $380K. FC Barcelona's sporting Director at the time, Carles Rexach, wrote the napkin on December 14, 2000.

To put this price into context, the starting price of $380k is almost equivalent to the weekly wages of Manchester United's Marcus Rashford. According to Capalogy.com, Rashford's weekly is around $380k at Man United and is the third highest weekly salary in the entire team. Raphael Varane makes more than him, which is around $430k a week, and Casemiro makes the most with $443k a week. Messi's napkin could reach higher numbers than that, as many fans would probably bid higher than the $380k mark. This piece of napkin is a historic piece of football, and it would be surprising if the sale is below the 500k mark.
