Leo Messi, known for his on-field magic, is now leaving an imprint in the world of fragrances. His debut scent, Messi Eau De Parfum, is a blend of carefully selected notes designed to capture the essence of the Argentine star. For those curious about what Messi smells like, they can purchase the fragrance for 69.95 euros ($73.40), but here’s a sneak peek: it features scents of apple leaves, cardamom, lavender, lily root, and patchouli, among others. This move follows in the footsteps of fellow footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham, who have also ventured into the fragrance world.

While this is another business for Messi, including his MIM Hotels, real estate investments, sponsorships, and clothing line, Messi Eau De Parfum represents something more personal. It’s a reflection of his humble yet powerful personality and offers fans a deeper, more intimate connection with the icon. Messi himself expressed his excitement on Instagram, saying, “I have always been passionate about fragrances, and I’m thrilled to produce my own scent.”

A Fragrance Crafted with Passion

The perfume campaign, which carries the slogan “More Than We See,” emphasizes the complexity and depth of the fragrance and, by extension, of Messi himself. Messi’s involvement in the project went beyond just being the face of the product. He was deeply engaged from the start, dedicating time and effort to ensure that the fragrance truly captured his essence, much like the dedication he’s known for on the field.

The collaboration with DSM-Firmenich, one of the world’s leading fragrance houses, and the expertise of perfumer Frank Voelkl, known for creating iconic scents like Calvin Klein’s Eternity For Men and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Covet, led to the creation of a truly distinctive scent. Voelkl described the fragrance as one designed to provoke a deep emotional connection. With top notes of apple leaves, cardamom, and cypress, a heart of lavender, leather, and lily root, and a base of vanilla, patchouli, and Virginia cedar, it’s a balanced blend of freshness and warmth.

A Sensational Packaging to Match the Icon

The bottle itself reflects Messi’s iconic status, with a sleek dark blue design and an engraved “M” that echoes the footballer’s legacy. The elegant lines and unique light-reflecting qualities of the bottle are a perfect representation of Messi’s greatness on the field.

The fragrance is now available in select stores in the United States, Australia, and Ireland, as well as on the official Messi The Fragrance website. A 100 ml bottle is priced at 69.95 euros ($73.40), while a gift set, which includes the 100 ml bottle, a 250 ml body wash, and a travel bag, is available for 84.95 euros ($89.14).
