And the manager was right. Not even the most optimistic of fans imagined that Harry would show the performances he has had during his first few months in Germany. He led the team with his goals and assists to qualify for the Champions League round of 16, where they will face Lazio. And in the Bundesliga he is helping them compete with the surprising Bayer Leverkusen, current leaders of the tournament.
On Friday, Harry scored the third goal in a 3-0 win over Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena, which allowed Bayern Munich to move closer to the top of the standings despite having a game in hand on their rivals. However, that goal was also important for another reason.
Kane reached 22 goals in the Bundesliga season and is not only the tournament's top scorer well clear of second (Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy, with 17), but also equaled an impressive record set by Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker was the only player to score that many goals in his first 16 games in a German league season, but now shares that honor with Harry.
