Iwobi winner, Man United loses 1-2 vs Fulham late at Old Trafford

Manchester United lost 1-2 to Fulham at home and stayed in 6th with 44 points. Fulham gets an important three points and is 12th in the Premier League table with 32 points. Man United was missing Rasmus Hojlund due to injury, and it seemed like the team was lacking a threat in the attack. Man United won five games before playing Fulham, and now they suffered their first loss in 2024.

Manchester United started poorly in the first 20 minutes of the game as Fulham had many chances. Iwobi took two shots that went wide but were close. Man United got close to the game with attempts from Garanacho and Diogo Dalot. Garnacho had a shot cleared off the line and saved by Leno. Dalot took a long shot that hit the post.

Fulham had many chances on target as well, with Muniz hitting the post and Onana making crucial saves. In the first half, it ended 0-0, but the clearer chances were for Fulham. Fulham continued to threaten the Man United box with more chances in the second half.

Fulham grabs a late winner after Man United drew late

In the 65th minute, Fulham finally found their goal from a corner kick. Calvin Bassey scuffs his first attempt on goal in the box, but his second attempt goes in as he shoots the ball into the roof of the net past Onana.

The rebound falls to Harry Maguire in the box, and he smashes the ball in the net to give Man United the late equalizer. Fulham goes on a lethal counter with Adama Traore running from the right side. He finds Iwobi near the Man United box and slots the ball in the bottom left corner past Onana. Iwobi scored in the 97th minute and gave Fulham the three points.
