Sky Sports reports that Manchester United's co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly held talks with Bayern Munich's Thomas Tuchel about becoming the next Man United manager after Erik Ten Hag. Manchester United reportedly wants Zinedine Zidane as their new coach next season, but if the French coach doesn't join, the club could go for Tuchel, who has said to be interested in returning to coaching in the Premier League after his spell with Chelsea. Reports suggested that Tuchel would be open to a move to Manchester United if given the opportunity.

Bayern Munich announced a month ago that the club and Tuchel agreed to part ways at the end of the season due to inconsistent performances in the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen ended up winning the Bundesliga title last week and ending Bayern's 11-year title reign. Although it has been a bad season for Bayern, the team is still in the Champions League semi-finals, where they will take on Real Madrid.

According to Kicker, while the contact between Manchester United and Tuchel has started, the German manager continues to be focused on the rest of the season with Bayern since they could potentially challenge for the Champions League trophy. Bayern Munich's last appearance in the semi-finals of the Champions League was in the 2019/2020 season. The Bavarians ended up winning the Champions League that year when they defeated PSG 1-0 in the final courtesy of a goal from Kingsley Coman.
