Manchester United wants to drastically improve next season from what occurred in the 23/24 season. Even though the team won the FA Cup trophy over Manchester City, the team finished 8th in the Premier League table. Their record in the league was 18 wins, six draws, and 14 losses. A player who could help them next season is Jadon Sancho, who went out on loan to Borussia Dortmund in the winter transfer window. Since then, he found his old form again and played in the Champions League Final. John Cross from The Mirror reports that Dortmund would like to sign Jadon Sancho on a permanent transfer but cannot afford to pay Manchester United’s asking price of $63.7 million. Sancho is also reluctant to give up on his United career and still has the ambition to make it work at the club. The English winger could also be willing to continue at Man United if Erik Ten Hag is sacked by the board this summer.
Sancho and Ten Hag did not get along at Manchester United earlier this season after the Dutch manager explained that the player did not do well in training to earn a call-up for a match against Arsenal. Sancho posted a response on Instagram about the words Ten Hag said and assured that he was working hard during the training sessions to earn a call for the match. Ten Hag was not playing the player, and the player decided a move to Dortmund on loan was the best choice for him.
Manchester United are still unsure if they will keep the Dutch manager next season despite winning the FA Cup. Due to the inconsistent performances throughout the season, the Man United board and Sir Jim Ratcliffe could look at another manager to replace Ten Hag this summer. If a new manager comes in, Sancho is likely to stay at Manchester United.
Sancho played a total of 24 matches this season across all competitions between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund. The English winger only played three matches for Man United this season. For Dortmund, he registered three goals and three assists.
