Despite a resounding 7-1 victory over Valencia, FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick once again opted to leave Andreas Christensen and Ansu Fati out of the matchday squad. With the transfer window nearing its close, both players are facing uncertain futures at the club.

The Catalans dismantled Valencia with a ruthless display of attacking football, effectively sealing the match within the first 15 minutes. With the game well in hand, Flick took the opportunity to give playing time to fringe players such as Héctor Fort, Gerard Martín, Pau Víctor, and Pablo Torre. However, Christensen and Fati were conspicuous by their absence.

Christensen's Uncertain Future

Christensen, who has been recovering from a lengthy injury, would have benefited from additional minutes to regain match fitness. However, Flick chose to overlook the Danish defender. Despite this, reports suggest that Christensen is determined to see out the season at Barcelona, at least.

Fati's Struggle for Playing Time

Ansu Fati, once considered one of the brightest young talents in European football, has struggled to find consistent playing time under Flick. The Spanish forward has been in and out of the team due to injuries and a loss of form. While Flick has publicly expressed support for Fati, his actions on the pitch suggest otherwise.

"I don't have any information. He wants to stay, which is fine. But the others also deserved to play. Now he's much better during training. He's improved. We will help him," Flick said. However, his words have done little to quell speculation about Fati's future.

Transfer Window Deadline Looms

With the transfer window set to close on February 3rd, both Christensen and Fati have less than a week to decide their futures. If they remain on the fringes of the squad, it is likely that they will seek a move away from the club in search of regular first-team football.

Potential Departures

Barcelona could be willing to let both players leave if they receive suitable offers. The club is looking to reduce its wage bill and could use the funds to strengthen other areas of the team.

What's next for Christensen and Fati?

The coming days will be crucial for both players. They must decide whether to stay at Barcelona and fight for their place in the team, or to seek a new challenge elsewhere. Their decisions will have a significant impact on their careers and on the future of FC Barcelona.
