Haaland and De Bruyne destroys Luton Town in the first half as Man City leads 3-1
Manchester City are 45 minutes away from advancing to the next round of the FA Cup as they lead 3-1 against Luton.
Man City is currently beating Luton Town 3-1 at Kenilworth Road in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Man City made it look easy as they dominated possession and then converted the opener early in the first half. It was the Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne show in the first half for Man City against Luton Town.
In the 3rd minute of the game, Matheus Nunes plays a great ball to Kevin De Bruyne, who runs in the box and receives the ball on the left side of the box. De Bruyne passes it back to Erling Haaland in the middle, and the Norwegian scores with his left foot. Haaland slots the ball in the left corner.
In the 7th minute, Luton Town was close to equalizing when Doughty passed the ball to Morris. Morris makes contact, and his shot seems to head towards the goal, but an Ake block prevents it from going in. Luton Town looked confident about attacking Man City, but that led to Man City’s second goal.
In the 17th minute, Haaland and De Bruyne linked up again as Ortega’s long kick went to Haaland near the middle of the pitch. Haaland brings the ball down to De Bruyne and then starts a run. De Bruyne controls the ball and sends a perfect through ball to Haaland, who is clear on goal and blasts his shot between the legs of Luton Town’s Krul to score his second of the game.
Haaland scores a first half hattrick while De Bruyne gets a hattrick of assists
Haaland got his hat trick in the 40th minute. De Bruyne also gets a hat-trick of assists as he plays a great ball for the Norwegian striker. Haaland runs with the ball in the box and dinks it over Krul to complete his hat-trick.
It wasn't the last goal of the first half as Clark from Luton curls a great shot into the right side of the net to make it 3-1.
