FC Barcelona, under Flick's leadership, continues its search for a winger to bolster the squad. Following Nico Williams' refusal, the Blaugrana club has shifted its focus back to Luis Díaz of Liverpool and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United. Barça is exploring both options, aware of the complexities involved in potentially bringing in Díaz. On the other hand, the Rashford operation seems more feasible, given Manchester United's interest in selling him and the player's desire to join Barcelona.

The next crucial step in the Luis Díaz saga is his return to Liverpool training this Monday, after the summer break. The Colombian forward is expected to meet with new coach, Arne Slot, to communicate his intention to leave the English club and request permission for his departure. This comes despite Liverpool's reluctance just a few days ago to even consider an offer from Bayern Munich for the player. Although some reports from Germany suggest an agreement between Díaz and the Bavarian club, Barcelona has no confirmation of this.

Key Meeting with Arne Slot

Díaz plans to clearly express his intentions to Slot. In parallel, his agent will also speak with Liverpool's board to convey the same message. The English club's response is uncertain, especially at a delicate time for the entity following the tragic passing of Diogo Jota, whose funeral was held last weekend. This loss is a human and sporting blow for the 'Reds,' as they lose a key attacking player.

Slot's stance will be decisive, and it doesn't seem likely that he will easily agree to the Colombian's departure. Barcelona is aware that this will not be a simple or quick operation. Díaz's departure will largely depend on his ability to persuade the club of his desire to leave, and it won't be cheap, with an estimated price of around 80 million euros. Barcelona also doesn't have much leeway in its financial 'Fair Play' to undertake an operation of this magnitude.

Given these circumstances, Barcelona is keeping both negotiations open with Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford. The club aims to maintain its options while waiting to see which signing can materialize. The resolution of this situation won't be immediate, as it depends on multiple factors, starting with Luis Díaz's imminent meeting with his coach.

Do you think Luis Díaz will manage to convince Arne Slot to let him leave, or will Barcelona ultimately opt for Marcus Rashford?
