The squad is getting slimmer this transfer window after loaning out Jadon Sancho, Hannibal, Donny van de Beek, and Alvaro Fernandez. Man United are counting on their injured players returning soon. Lisandro Martinez has returned when he came on in the 63rd minute of the 2-2 draw against Spurs in the Premier League. The Argentine looks to be another option for Man United manager Erik Ten Hag, who is also missing Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Malacia, and Lindelof.

Man United did not count on Amad Diallo and Soyfan Amrabat because of AFCON duties with their respective countries. The other two first-team players who weren't available for the Spurs game are Mason Mount and Anthony Martial. Mount is expected to recover from his calf injury in early February. Martial has been out due to illness but has been out for more than a month.

Martial has been told to train alone to improve his fitness before being picked to play for more games

Anthony Martial has been ill for a long time and now has been told by the club and the coach to train alone. The club wants the French striker to improve his fitness before Ten Hag can select him for games. He is unfit to train with the first team, let alone play a competitive game for Man United. United will need the fitness to improve fast as February approaches with many games.

Man United's next game will be in the FA Cup where they play Newport County from League Two. In the Premier League, they will play Wolves and then host West Ham at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are eight points behind a UCL spot.
