Paulo Dybala’s contract with AS Roma has been automatically extended until June 2026. The renewal, confirmed by the club on Sunday, was triggered by performance clauses tied to his playing time this season.
A Milestone Moment for Roma and Dybala
The announcement came on the same day Roma defeated Udinese 2-1, ending a nine-month streak without an away victory. Florien Ghisolfi, Roma’s sporting director, expressed the club’s delight: “Yes, Dybala’s renewal is official, and we’re thrilled. He’s a leader, an essential player for this team, and a symbol for both the club and the fans,” Ghisolfi told DAZN.
The extension comes with an enhanced salary package that, according to local reports, could reach €8 million annually, including bonuses.
The automatic renewal was contingent on Dybala participating in at least half of Roma’s matches, with a minimum of 45 minutes per game. Having fulfilled this requirement, the Argentine star’s original 2022 contract, set to expire in 2025, has now been extended by an additional year.
Dybala, who was at the center of transfer speculation during the last summer window, now solidifies his role as a cornerstone of Roma’s future. His importance to the team is underscored not only by his leadership on the field but also by the club’s commitment to retaining him under improved terms.
