The summer transfer window is set to open soon, but clubs will need to hurry to trigger the unique release clause that AS Roma’s Paulo Dybala has in his contract. Dybala is arguably the best player in the Roma squad, but he has a release clause of $13 million this summer until July 31st. According to Sky Sports, Dybala is open for a move to the Premier League this summer as Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly interested in the 30 year old attacking midfielder. If the clubs take too long to trigger the release clause and wait to sign him in August, Roma would be looking to ask for a bid of over $20 million this summer. His market value is just over $20 million, and his contract with the Italian club expires in the summer of 2025. The Argentine star has been playing at Roma since the summer of 2022.

Dybala joined Roma in the summer of 2022 as a free agent, and he left Juventus FC. He joined Juve in 2015 from US Palermo for around $41 million. Dybala made a total of 293 appearances for Juventus, scoring 115 goals and providing 48 assists. For Roma, he has made a total of 77 appearances across all competitions since 2022. He scored a total of 34 goals and provided 18 assists as a Roma player.

This season, Dybala played a total of 39 matches for Roma across all competitions, which includes the Serie A, the Europa League, and the Italian Cup. The Argentine scored a total of 16 goals and provided 10 assists. He played over 2,600 minutes this season, but he suffered more than five injuries this season with Roma, which could be a concern for Manchester United and Manchester City if they sign him this summer.

Where Dybala would play at Man City and Man United

Dybala is usually at his best as the second striker of any team, as he showcased this season with Roma and partnered up with Romelu Lukaku. Man City could use Dybala behind Erling Haaland as another outlet to feed the Norwegian striker passes in the box.

The same could be done at Manchester United with Rasmus Hojlund. Neither team plays with two strikers up top, but the front three they have could have Dybala on the right wing so he can cut in with his favorite left foot for crosses or shots.
