Despite strong Saudi Arabia interest, Man City offers big deal for De Bruyne
Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne has been chased by the Saudi Pro League, but he might stay with Guardiola.
Kevin De Bruyne is back in action, and after two great performances with Manchester City in 2024, the Belgian has alerted the rest of the Premier League that he is there to take over. De Bruyne guided Man City to a 3-2 comeback win against Newcastle United. Man City is currently second with 43 points and is only two points behind league leaders Liverpool FC.
Manchester City has a busy schedule coming up as they first take on Tottenham in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. De Bruyne will look to start his first game for Man City in a while as he wants to help his team score and win in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time. At 32 years old, the Belgian looks not to slow down, but to improve game by game. He is performing well while catching up to the pace of a football game after months without action.
These performances are wowing Manchester City fans, but they are also wowing Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is convinced De Bruyne could be the next big football star to join the Saudi Pro League this summer. They have identified De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah as the main targets this summer and are willing to spend $2.8 billion for player transfers into their league.
Manchester City does not want to let him go and look to offer him a good deal to stay. City will not be able to match Saudi Arabia's proposal of 1 million euros a week, but his time at City will be enough to convince the player to stay longer.

Man City wants to extend De Bruyne's contract through 2026 to persuade him to stay rather than leave for Saudi Arabia. De Bruyne loves his life at the Etihad and mentions that his three young children call Manchester home. His current contract runs out in 2025, but he will be at Man City for just over a decade with this proposed new contract.
