At nearly 40 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to demonstrate elite footballing skills, even as his career moves into its final years outside the spotlight of European football’s highest tier. His time in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr, although lacking major titles recently, has shown that he can still compete at the top level both for club and country, proving his ability to score goals like in his prime.

However, one factor that even the Portuguese star can’t outrun is the passage of time, which is reflected in the significant decrease in his market value. Since leaving European football and joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo's market worth has dropped drastically, and he is now experiencing what is likely the lowest valuation in the past two decades of his career.

Ronaldo's Value Dips Below 12 Million Euros

According to the specialized market portal Transfermarkt, Ronaldo’s market value has recently dropped to 12 million euros. While this is a natural progression for any player as they age, it is surprising given Ronaldo’s exceptional career and reputation as one of football's greatest talents.

When Ronaldo made his debut with Sporting Lisbon and moved to Manchester United, his market value started at 18 million euros in 2004. By the time he joined Real Madrid, his value had soared to 60 million euros, with Madrid paying nearly 100 million euros for his transfer.

During his highly successful time at Madrid, Ronaldo reached his peak market value of 120 million euros, according to Transfermarkt’s official records.

From Peak to Decline: Ronaldo’s Market Value Over the Years

After his move to Juventus, Ronaldo’s market value dropped to 100 million euros, then to 45 million euros when he returned to Manchester United. Following his recent stint in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo's value has continued to fall, currently standing at just 12 million euros, the lowest of his two-decade career.

This sharp decline in market value reflects not only the natural aging process but also the impact of playing in a less high-profile league compared to Europe’s top football competitions. Despite this, Ronaldo remains a top performer and continues to be one of the sport's biggest stars.

  • Current Value: 12 million euros, marking the lowest in his career.
  • Peak Value: 120 million euros during his time at Real Madrid.
  • Previous Transfers:
  • 18 million euros at Sporting Lisbon in 2004.
  • 60 million euros at Manchester United.
  • Near 100 million euros for his transfer to Real Madrid.
  • 100 million euros when joining Juventus, then 45 million euros upon his return to Manchester United.
  • Recent Decline: His value dropped from 15 million euros to 12 million euros since joining Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
