Cristiano Ronaldo is once again linked to a move away from Al Nassr despite having a contract with the club that expires in the summer of 2025. The Portuguese star is continuing to shine for Al Nassr, but he is at risk of not showing anything for the season. CR7 may go trophyless this season as Al Hilal won the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi Super Cup. This season may have convinced Ronaldo that he could still perform in Europe after the number he pulled for Al Nassr this season. Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly very interested in signing Ronaldo this summer, and if he joins, the striker will have his eyes set on another record. Ronaldo broke a record by becoming the first player to be the top goalscorer in four different countries and leagues. If CR7 becomes the top goalscorer in the Bundesliga with Leverkusen under Xavi Alonso, the record will increase to five leagues, where the Portuguese striker becomes the top goalscorer.

Two days ago, Ronaldo made history in Saudi Arabia as he broke the record for the all-time top goalscorer in a single Saudi Pro League season with 35 goals. The Portuguese striker scored a brace against Al Itthad at Al Awal Park to finish the league season with 35 goals and 11 assists in 31 matches played. Ronaldo also became the first player to be the top scorer in four different leagues and countries, as he took over the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga.

The Portuguese striker was very happy to break the record as he published a post celebrating the achievement on his social media pages. In regards to the top scorer record in four different leagues and countries, Ronaldo wrote, “Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries. A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates and staff who helped me along the way.”

Al Nassr’s last chance to win a trophy this season

Although Ronaldo is satisfied with the season already with the two records he just broke, he would like to win a trophy this season with Al Nassr. The team will face Al Hilal this Friday in the King’s Cup Final, which could be Al Hilal’s third trophy of the season.
