Chelsea and Liverpool battle for valuable Premier League midfielder

Chelsea looks to challenge Liverpool this summer for the same transfer target this summer

Pochettino and Klopp look to sign this brilliant Premier League midfielder.

Chelsea FC looks to spend big once again this summer as they look to challenge Liverpool FC to a transfer target the Reds have their eyes on. Chelsea has already spent a massive amount of money since the takeover of Todd Boehly. The American owner has spent over 1 billion pounds on transfer and loan fees. Their last big-money singing was U21 wonder boy Cole Palmer.

They have spent 107 million euros on Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in last year's winter transfer window. Then, in the summer, Chelsea spent big on young players again with the acquisition of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. The Ecuadorian came for a record transfer fee of 115 million pounds, and the Belgian came for 58 million pounds. These two midfielders were targets for Liverpool FC last summer.

Liverpool couldn't get a deal agreed with Caicedo's team as the player was determined to play for the London Blues. Liverpool offered more than Chelsea before the 115 million pound bid arrived. Caicedo said no and moved to Chelsea. The same thing occurred with Lavia. Liverpool was unwilling to offer Southampton more than 50 million pounds, and the player also decided to join Chelsea. Chelsea took both transfer targets and wants to do it again this summer.

Chelsea look to sign Newcastle's Bruno Guimarães and beat Liverpool to the signing this summer.

Liverpool are looking to sign Bruno Guimarães this summer to add depth into the squad. Chelsea has also declared interest in the Newcastle United player and looks to compete with Liverpool for a transfer target once again. The Brazilian is currently looked at by Newcastle United as a possible sale to help avoid problems with the Financial Fair Play [FFP] rules.

The Brazilian reportedly has a 100 million pound release clause but would be willing to listen to offers below that price. The Newcastle midfielder has also been aware of interest from Real Madrid, PSG, and FC Barcelona. The player will most likely be sold in the summer rather than the winter transfer window.
