Chelsea and Aston Villa are drawing 0-0 at halftime in a half with many chances. Villa started the game with more of the ball. The visiting team looked more comfortable at Stamford Bridge in the first few minutes. Aston Villa had the first clear chance of the game after a brilliant free-kick routine. Villa tried to get back into the game when they tried another free-kick routine near the Chelsea box. McGinn sent the ball over the bar as he put his laces onto the strike. Martinez would step up big again for Aston Villa after a deflection from Moreno almost led to a goal. Martinez got to make a block from point-blank range. Martinez saved Villa late in the first half when Badiashile's header was straight at the Villa keeper. Villa almost scored just before halftime when Tielemans curled his shot wide of the near post.
