Carlo Ancelotti and his words after Real Madrid's epic comeback against Almeria
Real Madrid won against Almería in a match with a lot of drama and refereeing controversy.
Real Madrid made an epic comeback against Almería at the Santiago Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti's team was losing 2-0 in the first half, however, they managed to win in the 98th minute. Now, Real Madrid is receiving a lot of criticism for some controversial referee decisions.
Carlo Ancelotti was the first to admit that the match was not ordinary: "Strange match. The first half was very bad. I judged yesterday's training poorly. It was a tired team. The second was something else and we had the support and push of this stadium, which is very important.
One of the biggest controversies was when the referee added 11 minutes in the aggregate time, however, Ancelotti also had an answer for it: "You could only change, put energy in. Tired, I made a mistake in the alignment. Already in the 30th minute "I was thinking about the changes. I understand Almería's anger with the VAR decisions, but I think they were well decided."
Did Real Madrid win because of the referees?
Carlo Ancelotti did not see it that way, in fact, quite the opposite: "I have seen them. I think the referee makes the correct decisions, not the VAR. The VAR warns and the referee decides. And I think he was right."
