Old Trafford went crazy when Man United defeated West Ham United 3-0 this past weekend. Man United won two Premier League games in a row and now sits 6th in the league table with 38 points. Man United are 8 points below 4th place Aston Villa, and the team will look to continue their great form to qualify for the Champions League next season. While the Man United fans enjoy their team's victory at Old Trafford, Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans to change the stadium where Man United plays.

According to Telegraph correspondent James Ducker, Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants Manchester United to create the 'Wembley of the North' under ambitious plans for a spectacular new Old Trafford. "Ratcliffe believes the North of England should have a world-class venue to rival London’s 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium and could yet seek to lobby the UK Government for funds amid Westminster’s “Levelling Up” pledges."

This means Man United plans to either expand Old Trafford or build a completely new stadium within the area that Old Trafford is by. It is estimated that expanding the current Old Trafford could cost at least £800m and potentially more, while a new ground could be in the region of £1.5bn to £2bn. The new stadium could reportedly be right next to where Old Trafford is currently at. Old Trafford is by the Bridgewater Canal, a railway line, and by the Sir Matt Busby Statue.
