Liverpool fans are on cloud nine right now as the club are enjoying being top of the league currently by five points. Yesterday’s four nil demolition of Bournemouth saw the Reds jump five points ahead of Manchester City, albeit the defending champions do have a game in hand on the league leaders. It is set to be another thrilling title race between the two, as the two clubs have provided football fans with a couple of the most legendary title races ever.

Liverpool was able to handle business yesterday without some of their key players. Trent Alexander Arnold missed the game with injury, Wataru Endo was at the Asian Cup, Tsimikas and Robertson were still out as well. Liverpool was also missing one other key player and that is Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian is away at AFCON representing his country where has not had the easiest of times.

Salah was looking to avenge his AFCON final loss against Senegal, but after the injury he suffered against Ghana that is now highly unlikely. Egyptian fans and Liverpool fans held their breath when Salah got injured last week, and the concern was evident right away when the player started crying. It was originally suspected to be a hamstring injury, but it turned out to be a back issue for the superstar.

The initial diagnosis lowered concern amongst fans as it seemed like he would miss one to two weeks at most as he headed back to Liverpool to make his recovery. He was ready to be back for next Sunday if needed for Liverpool according to those reports. However, that appears to not be the case and for Liverpool and Egypt fans it’s not looking good.
