FIFA's The Best ceremony will include the Best Men's Player award for the 2022/23 season. The qualifying period for The FIFA Best Men’s Player was between 19 December 2022 and 20 August 2023. The three finalists for the award are Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Erling Haaland.

The three players have had an incredible season for their club and country in the past year. The award, unfortunately, ignores the 2022 World Cup, which could have been a huge boost for Messi to win the award. Messi still managed to win the Ligue 1 title with PSG and a Leagues Cup trophy for Inter Miami. The Argentine scored 28 goals and assisted 12 in 44 games in 2023.

Mbappe also won Ligue 1 with 17 goals in 20 league games after the 2022 World Cup. He was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year and was the Ligue 1 top scorer. The player is continuing to shine this season with PSG without the likes of Neymar and Messi in the squad.

Erling Haaland has the biggest possibility of winning tonight as Norweigan scored 28 goals in 33 games during the qualifying period by FIFA. He won the Premier League Golden Boot, the European Golden Boot, and the Premier League's Player and Young Player of the Season. He also won the treble with Manchester City, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League.
