Bayern Munich lost once again in the Bundesliga as FC Heidenheim made a comeback to win 3-2 at home against Bayern. This is now two consecutive losses in the Bundesliga after losing 2-0 against Dortmund last weekend. The situation at Bayern Munich this season is getting worse as the tile hopes seem to be dead. Bayer Leverkusen could win the Bundesliga title next weekend against Werder Bremen but now Bayern will have to focus on the Arsenal game in the quarterfinals of the Champions League this Tuesday. While many assume that Thomas Tuchel will likely get sacked after this performance, Bayern Munich's director of sport, Max Eberl, gives another perspective.

Thomas Tuchel reacted to another loss in the Bundesliga as they are still second in the league table with 60 points, while Leverkusen is first with 76 points. Tuchel said, "This shouldn't happen at this level. We had everything under control at halftime; it's difficult to answer now. We are struggling to maintain the level; unfortunately, today was another proof. We gave the game away in the first 15 minutes of the second half after we did a lot of good things in the first half. We then had 3,4 big chances to score the third but didn't take them. The way we conceded the goals was way too simple."

Max Eberl spoke after the game, and the main question was if Tuchel would get sacked now and if someone else would be in charge against Arsenal this week. Eberl said, "The speech during the week was extremely emotional. Thomas put everything into that meeting room. This is not what Thomas deserved. No, I didn’t have that thought. [Sacking Tuchel] It’s not always just a coaching problem."

What's next for Bayern Munich?

Bayern Munich will travel to London this week for the 1st leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Arsenal. Next weekend, Bayern will take on Koln in a must-win Bundesliga match. It may not matter because if Bayer Leverkusen defeats Werder Bremen, they will win their first-ever Bundesliga title and end Bayern Munich's 11-year title run.
