Dortmund took the lead early in the first half against PSV as Jadon Sancho scored in the 3rd minute. Julian Brandt plays Sancho on the edge of the box, and the English winger drills a low shot that goes through the legs of Guss Til and past Walter Benitez. The ball goes into the bottom left corner, and the Signal Iduna Park explodes with joy.

Both teams had many chances to score, with PSV desperate to get a goal as the aggregate score was 2-0 in favor of Dortmund. PSV had seven shots on target, but they couldn't convert any of the chances into a goal. Dortmund punished PSV late in the game as Marco Reus scored in the 95th minute. Gregor Kobel, who had seven saves, took a goal kick that went for Niclas Fullkrug. Fullkurg's header was in PSV's Isaac Babadi's way, but the player slips and leaves Reus open. The German midfielder slots the ball into the bottom corner and seals the win to make it 3-0.

Inter Milan took the lead in the Metropolitano in the 33rd minute after a great play from the Italian side. Nicolo Barella from the left side finds a great pass in the box to Federico Di Marco, who scores past Jan Oblak. Inter was leading 2-0 on aggregate, which would've sealed the tie, but it was too early. Atletico scored two minutes later, and Antoine Greizmann scored from close range to make it 1-1 and 2-1 on aggregate. Atleti needed one more to tie the game.

In the penalty shootout, Inter missed three penalties as Calhanoglu and Klaassen's shots were saved by Oblak. Saul Niguez missed for Atletico, but when Lautaro Martinez missed Inter's fifth penalty, it was enough to seal Atletico Madrid's 3-2 win on penalties. Depay, Riquelme, and Correa scored the pens for Atleti.
