FC Barcelona impressed in La Liga yesterday as they won 3-0 against Atletico Madrid at the Civitas Metropolitano. Barcelona are 2nd in La Liga with 64 points and are eight points behind Real Madrid, who are still in first with 72 points. The game between Barca and Atletico had lots of tension because of one player, Joao Felix. The Portuguese player is on loan at FC Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, and he had already scored against his parent club earlier in the season. Last December, FC Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 thanks to a Joao Felix goal. The Atletico Madrid fans at home did not receive him well as he returned to the Metropolitano.

Atletico Madrid fans reportedly vandalized Joao Felix's plaque and set fire to his shirt outside the Metropolitano Stadium ahead of their game vs. Barcelona. The fans were constantly booing Felix when he touched the ball and were even making indirect and direct chants toward him at the end of the game. Felix was booed off when he was subbed off the game. Felix scored the opener for FC Barcelona in the 38th minute after a great play from Ilkay Gundogan and Robert Lewandowski. The Portuguese player slots the ball first-time into the right side of the net.
Felix spoke after the game and left a message for Atletico Madrid fans. Felix said, "Atlético fans do not know the things that happened here during the time I've been here. The fans don't know what happened here inside, I understand them but I shouldn't be seen as the bad guy. Even my relationship with Atléti players is very good. I stopped to talk with Samuel, Lino, and Lemar, and everyone came to hug me, talk to me, and ask me how my family is I have nothing against them nor they against me, the people outside clearly don't know what happened inside here."
